Completely Silent
When the water level is full this water dish makes no noise at all. Once the water level drops an inch or two you can hear a quiet waterfall effect. Topping off the water reservoir will make it completely silent again. When I had refilled the reservoir I had noticed that the water was still clean with very little contaminates like dirt and hair. I think it’s due to the design of the top cover that is mostly solid with a few holes drilled in it. I really like the simplicity of the design. The top part where the water flows out of simply snaps on and off like a lid making everything easily accessible. The pump is placed in the center and the lid snaps back on. Easy. The water pump did not work with the first one that was shipped to me. But I did receive a new replacement with all working parts. Not sure why the first pump didn’t work but at least the one I have now works fine.UPDATE 2 MONTHS LATERI just had to add this little update to say after 2 months of use I have only cleaned it once and the water never got slimy. I have used 2 other open air designs wothout a filter and both would start to get slimy after a week or so. I’m glad I bought this for my cats.

Great fountain!
Very easy to clean, cleaning water and pump (filter needs to be taken apart, which I failed to do for a few month; don’t make that mistake, as it drastically cuts down the water flow!) is SO easy!Had another brand for a couple of years; what a pain to clean, and it got noisy.Very versatile for my cats different drinking styles! I highly recommend!

Best cat fountain I’ve had so far
The big problem with cat water fountains is how gross they get, so I was looking for something easy to clean. This is the easiest of the four fountains I’ve had, which is to say… still not that great. The stainless steel bowl and lid clean easily in the dishwasher, but the pump has a bunch of crevices that are hard to reach with a brush. And it will grow a biofilm (bacteria or mold) anywhere you don’t reach. It says you can go 2-4 weeks without cleaning the pump, but honestly 2 weeks is pushing it. The carbon filter is tiny, and I doubt it’s doing much to purify the water. I will say, after two years the pump is still going strong. I actually came here to write a negative review about it dying, but saw the company claim that almost all pump failures could be solved by cleaning, and hey: they were right. It just had a tiny hair stuck in the rotor.

Works well and cat likes it. Pump gave out after 2.5 years.
Have been using this fountain for about 2.5 years now and no problems until now when the pump finally gave up. There’s not a pump replacement evident on the item posting although they do identify the filters that you need. There is a replacement pump that I found. I’ll order it ($10) but you have to look around Amazon for it.

Arrived broken & slimy!
Wouldn’t turn on, no matter what I did. The light did, but the pump just wouldn’t work. Cracked open the pump to try to find out what was wrong, and it was slimy in there for some reason??? Unfortunately, I broke a piece in the process which wouldn’t have impacted the functionality had the thing turned on again but does mean I almost certainly can’t get my money back.I’ve jury-rigged a pump from a cheap, second-hand, plastic cat fountain to fit with the top, and THAT pump works fine. So now the fountain works as intended, I guess. Three straws & a completely different pump later.I could’ve bought a metal serving bowl second hand, maybe punched some holes in the lid for drainage & to let the straw through if there weren’t steam holes there already, plopped in the pump I already had with just one straw as a spout, and would’ve gotten essentially the same results for less than half the price & time.

Finally drinking water
When I got my kitten from under my sister house I could not get him to drink from a dish. My friend recommended one of these and I love this one. It’s ability to hold so much is great for me since I work a lot and the running water comes out just fine got him drinking finally! It’s easy to clean and maintain between those cleanings as well! Also not noises in the slighest

Decent, But Magnet is Flaking After 18 Months
This fountain has worked well enough for 18 months. Compared to my previous fountain, this one has a nearly silent motor and is easier to disassemble for cleaning, but the sound of tinkling water gets noisier as the water level drops. Which, fine, I think of it as a zen garden effect and the sound cues me into topping up the water when needed.Today I took it apart for cleaning and noticed something odd. The magnet around the impeller seems to be flaking or corroding – there are several teeny metal filaments peeling up like splinters. I can’t tell how loose they are, because the magnet makes it difficult to use my metal tweezers. But there’s no way I’m putting this back into action if there’s a chance my cat could be swallowing little metal splinters. Fingers crossed that hasn’t already happened (he seems fine).I would purchase a replacement impeller, but I can’t find contact info for the seller/manufacturer, and apparently you can’t buy that part on its own through another party. A few sellers do offer replacement pumps that are (allegedly) compatible, so I’ve ordered one in hopes that I don’t have to just get an entirely new fountain. The kitty will be drinking from the fountain basin till the pump arrives.

Small breed friendly
Munchkin cat approved! I have had 3 other water fountains. My cat is a munchkin and this is the first one she can drink from. Perfect size. I keep it in my bedroom and I can’t hear it. Small blue light works perfectly so she can see the water to get a drink. No more pawing at the edge and splashing water on the floor. Purrrrrrrfection!

I wanted my baby to drink from a steel fountain. Found this after a lot of research, though I would have preferred a rectangular one, which would fit very well in corners. The quality of stainless steel is good, no rusting after months of usage. It is very silent, so you can keep it running 24×7. Just make sure you fill it up to the brim to experience the no noise feature. The filters are available conveniently. But I still stock them up for a couple of months. I change one every 10 weeks. My Persian kitten loves to drink from it and prefers to lap up directly from the top of the fountain. I like to see him have his preference and enjoy it. Only downside is that the water vanishes to the bottom dish when power turns off. So you must keep this in mind if your kitty is drinking only from this. Get a mini UPS for it if you don’t have continuous power supply.

UPDATE: I’ve had this fountain for almost 4 months and I do not see any rust at all forming on it. So it’s probably as I mentioned below using distilled water is pure whereas tap water is full of chemicals.Easy to put together, works well and very quiet. Some reviews mentioned it rusted after a month or so, so we’ll see. I only use distilled water in it, so perhaps that may help it from rusting. Time will tell. Otherwise, it’s a great little drinking fountain.

I’ve been using this for 6 months. All 3 cats have adjusted to it.One of my cats liked to drink from the tub faucet. I tried a plastic fountain hoping he would drink from the fountain. It was great! All the cats were drinking more.Unfortunately one cat developed sores on his chin. The vet diagnosed them as chin acne caused by an allergic reaction to the plastic. He suggested switching to either ceramic or stainless steel bowls.Eventually the sores cleared up after switching to this stainless steel fountain. Plus, the stainless steel is much easier to clean than the plastic and it keeps the water cool.I would definitely recommend this fountain.
