Customers say
Customers find the breeding box works well, with one mentioning it’s great for hatching Molly fry. The size and build quality receive mixed feedback – while some find it good-sized and well-constructed, others say it’s too small and cheaply made. Moreover, the suction cups and lid stability are problematic, with customers reporting they don’t stay in place and the lid doesn’t stay securely attached. Additionally, durability is a concern as units arrive broken or with cracked sides.

Good Temporary Fish Holder
I used this to acclimate my female betta into my aquarium without knowing whether she would kill the rest of my fish. It worked well but was definitely a temporary solution and not big enough to hold her permanently. I found that she was a little aggressive while in this breeder box probably because it was too small. She would flare a little and try to swim at fish that were near her box. After about half a week to a week I decided to add her to the rest of the tank. Luckily she got along with the rest of this fish and hasn’t been aggressive. As far as breeder boxes go this seems to be a good value. It has good separators and design choices to protect baby fish. The suction cups attach really well to the glass sides of the aquarium and were even hard to get off at some points.

Works well
This one is a lot better option than the others I’ve looked at. It has worked well for me. Everything fits together as it should and stays in place. The suction cups actually stay on the glass as well.

Perfect for Breeding and Protecting Fry!
I recently purchased the Pawfly Aquarium Fish Breeding Box (Small size), and I am thrilled with its performance. As someone who breeds fish regularly, having a reliable and well-designed breeding box is essential, and this one has exceeded my expectations. It’s compact, efficient, and provides the perfect environment for fish to breed and for fry to grow safely.Pros:Great Design and Functionality – The Pawfly Breeding Box is well-constructed and features a sleek, clear acrylic design that lets you observe your fish without disturbing them. The box has plenty of ventilation, ensuring good water flow and oxygenation, which is vital for the health of both adult fish and fry. The removable divider is especially useful for separating the mother from the fry after birth, preventing her from eating the babies.Perfect for Smaller Fish Species – The small size is ideal for most freshwater fish breeds, particularly smaller fish like guppies, bettas, and tetras. It provides enough space for fry to swim comfortably while keeping them safe from more aggressive tank mates. I’ve had great success using it for my guppies and bettas, and it works wonderfully for newborn fry.Easy to Use – Setting up the breeding box is incredibly simple. It hangs easily inside the main aquarium with the included suction cups, and the divider can be adjusted or removed as needed. The box is lightweight, making it easy to move around, but it’s sturdy enough to stay in place. Cleaning is also a breeze—just remove the box, rinse it with warm water, and you’re good to go.Prevents Fry Loss – One of the best features of this breeding box is the small opening at the bottom, which allows fry to pass through to a separate chamber once they’re born. This helps prevent the adult fish from eating the fry and gives the newborns a better chance to survive. The clear acrylic construction makes it easy to check on the health of both the adults and the fry without disturbing the environment.Affordable – Compared to many other breeding boxes on the market, this one is affordable and offers excellent value for the price. It’s a great choice for hobbyists on a budget or anyone looking for an efficient, no-frills breeding box.Cons:The small size may not be suitable for larger or more numerous fish species. If you’re breeding fish with large or very active adults, you might need a larger tank or breeding box. However, for most small to medium-sized fish, the small version is perfect. The suction cups can sometimes be a bit tricky to attach and keep secure, especially if the glass of your tank is heavily textured. However, once positioned correctly, they stay in place well.Overall: The Pawfly Aquarium Fish Breeding Box Acrylic Hatchery Incubator Tank (Small) is a fantastic choice for any fish breeder, particularly those with small to medium-sized fish. It’s compact, easy to use, and helps protect the fry during their critical early stages of development. I’ve used this box multiple times for breeding and it’s been an invaluable tool for keeping both adult fish and their young safe. It’s a highly recommended product for both beginner and experienced aquarists!

Good little box to protect injured fish and for use in breeding.
I didn’t buy this for breeding purposes, I needed to separate an injured fish. This package arrived quickly and as expected. The box is large enough to fit my fish comfortably and has lots of slits to allow for water to come through. My fish are safe while they recover in the box without having to invest in a whole hospital tank setup which I appreciated. It has three rooms so if you were to try to separate baby fish from the parents, they fall right through to the bottom section and stay safe there. I like the fact that it floats at the top And is easy to access. The lid is helpful to contain any escape artists. I recommend this product if you’re looking for a in-tank way to separate fish from one another. Works well.

P
I had one aggressive fish, who kept chasing other fish too much. So I had to separate that one into this container for a few days. He got really quiet after that and stopped chasing for a while.pros: Great to separate specific fish from the group.cons: The lid will open and the fish escapes if you push it down too much into the water. The section parts are very loosen as other people reviewed.

Great quality
Easy to use and great size for baby fry

a safe spot for the baby guppies
Keep the baby guppies away from the big ones.

Does the job
All my fry died since the bigger fish ate them through the hole walls. The suction cups keep slipping out of place. The floor divider I couldn’t seem to take out since it has a very tiny handle. The handles on the side should be rounded and not sharp and could hurt the other fishes too.

I ordered the medium and at first I was worried it was too large for a 15 gallon aquarium. I love the customization possibilities with all of the pieces. I put a pregnant guppy in one side as she was being harassed. I moved tiny fry onto other side and the smaller once have gone through the slits into safety. The larger ones from another fish that were swimming are on one side above the wee ones. The suction cups hold it firmly near my power filter outlet to allow some water flow. The top lid has slits. Heavy plastic, great quality.

I love that stuff, so convenient when you have pregnant fish. That’s very cool to look. Love that.
