The Pet Gear Travel Lite Bi-Fold Pet Ramp with supertraX allows your pet easy access into your vehicle or other hard to reach places with a better grip than ever before. The removable supertraX mat is pressure activated, meaning your pet will easily be able to grip into the mat, simply by putting weight on it. The supertraX mat is much preferred to other types of carpet treads because it allows your petās paws to have a greater surface area contact with the ramp, creating greater stability. The mat is also removable for easy cleaning. Bottom grippers and included safety tether help the ramp maintain in a steady position. The ramp has a built-in carry handle for easy transportation and a bi-fold design which reduces storage space.

Customers say
Customers find the ramp well-made, easy to use and move, and appreciate its sturdy construction, with one customer noting it stands up well to an 80-pound lab. The product works well in various settings, including back patios, and provides a non-slip surface that prevents dogs from sliding. While some customers find the size perfect, others mention it’s too narrow for larger dogs, and opinions on weight are mixed between those who find it lightweight and those who consider it heavy.

Great with some reservations
I think this ramp is great except for the fact that it’s impossible to secure it to the car. For that reason, I wrote “great with some reservations” in the headline, meaning that the ramp is useful but that safety needs to be a top priority when the dog is on the ramp. Safety is a concern with other ramps, as well, since some of the breeds tend to distrust the ramp and will try to jump off or may even fall off due to nervousness.I bought the ramp used from the Amazon Warehouse. It was advertised as “Used – Like New.” In my opinion, that means “mint” condition. I think it would have been more accurate to describe it as “Used – Very Good” because it did show signs of wear. All of that aside, the ramp is exactly what I needed. My 30 lb. Sheltie is a therapy dog and no longer likes to jump up into the car as she did when she was younger. She is too heavy for me to lift into the car on our weekly trips to hospitals, schools, and nursing homes.Having read that some people use treats to get a dog to walk on the ramp, I tried a different approach and used treats after she had walked up the ramp and after she had walked down the ramp. I opened the driver’s side door and propped the curved section of the ramp on the rim of the car door opening, taking care that it was sturdily in place. I then grasped my dog by the collar and gently walked her up into the front seat and repeated the process back down. We did this twice and then I rewarded her with her favorite treat. I repeated the training in the same way for the next two days. By the third day, she was running up and down the ramp with little assistance or guidance from me. She was delighted to do so because she knew her favorite treat would be given to her upon completion of her task.My only concern is that the ramp might fall off the edge of the opening to the car. There really is no way to secure it or to actually snap-it-in-place. For that reason, I would never let her run up and down the ramp without my guidance to be sure that the ramp stays in place and that she doesn’t accidentally dislodge it.One reason I bought the ramp and really like it is that it weighs only 7 lbs. I am almost age 70 and am small in size. I have used heavier ramps belonging to my friends and don’t feel that it’s easy to carry or lift bigger ramps or fold them. This ramp is easy to fold and is really nice. I am so glad that I bought this ramp at a great price and that my dog has easily adjusted to using it.I will add that I drive a Ford Focus and that this short ramp is ideal in pitch and length. I had thought about getting a longer ramp, but it isn’t necessary. This length works well.

Just be patient with your Friend he/she will get comfortable using it.
Pet Gear supetrX (well made) sturdy. It was purchase several years ago. When My Best Friend weigh about 20lbs, and too short to jump up into my truck. It folds in half, walking surface non-slip She now weighs 94lbs, and continues to use the ramp. I highly recommend this item. š

Helpful for larger dog I can’t lift.
Useful ramp. I have a large SUV so the only downfall is it sit securely on running board but not up on seat so it’s still a large step down or up for dog. I would have preferred on on seat but angle probably too steep. Better for a sedan or dog that is able to do the hop up.

Won’t work for the side doors!
I ordered two different ramps for my aging German Shepherd, hoping one would work for the side door onto the floor board. Both were too wide for the doorway even though my Nissan SUV has wider than normal door openings. When I tried to hold it at an angle it fell as she was going in and got scared. This ramp is very well made though, very heavy, and had a green thick plastic mat for their feet to hook into. I returned it and will get another step stool like the one I got for the sofa. She tried it and it worked great and is sturdy so she trusts it to be safe.

Ramp not good for SUVs
The ramp is too steep for use in the back area and when used in the rear door of my SUV, the door covered too much of the ramp for my dog to be able to use it. I have missed the return window by 1 day but would definitely NOT recommend it.

Great ramp for all sizes
We got this ramp so that our golden retriever could walk up into our SUV and prolong any type of hip issues and also allowed our small papillon puppy to get up into the car unassisted My only critique potential gripe is that it doesn’t fit perfectly while we open up the door even with the door fully opened the ramp sits at an angle but besides that as long as you’re supporting the bottom of the ramp even at an angle this ramp does what it needs to do it’s got good grip so the puppies don’t slip it’s sturdy our dog weighs 82 lb and the ramp has no flex so I’m not worried about it breaking would buy again.

Heavy, short, slippery
This product is ok but leaves some things to be desired. Itās fairly heavy, making it a bit unwieldy (although it is sturdy). The green turf is a bit slipperyāI donāt see the point of having fake grass on a ramp. It doesnāt seem likely that a dog would be more inclined to walk up a ramp because itās covered in plastic grass. A non-slip surface would be much more sensible, especially since dogs who need ramps are already often struggling with pain/weakness in the legs or hips.Itās also on the short side, so for use with a sedan or SUV, it ends up at a very steep angle, and I have to basically lift/drag my dog up the thing. For a car with a very low chassis (maybe a minivan?), the angle wouldnāt be so dramatic. That problem could be solved if the ramp itself were longer, but then it would be even heavier and more difficult to manage, not to mention take up more space in the car.

Esta muy útil. La parte verde es muy cómoda y suave. Poco a poco mi perrita se va acostumbrando y es que tiene 15 años y ha perdido visibilidad . Es excelente

Works well but not quite high enough for 4in lifted Ram 2500 truck….making it a vit too steep for getting in n out for ny elderly dog.Another concern is the lack of grip where the ramp meets the door edge. It easily slips and I’ve needed to add better gripping as my furbabe has fell off it and slipped other times because of the lack of stability.I really like the green grippy carpet design. It’s a bit cumbersome and would benefit from handles on the sides as I have smashed my hands a few times.

The design of the back door of the Jeep combined with the height of the Jeep makes it very challenging for my dog to “jump” in. Lifting a dirty wet 120 lb dog into the back seat is not always fun so this ramp really comes in handy. I added some clips at the top to clip it in place at the narrow back door edge so it doesn’t have a chance of slipping out of place no matter how clumsy the dog is.
