Quality is excellent!
My dogs love this very large heating pad. The quality is excellent! The heat and time controls are easy to understand and set. I put it on the lowest heat setting and both dogs curl up on it. I washed the fury cover and it didn’t shrink at all. So happy with this purchase!

Generously Sized, Great Features!
I put a shelf in my bay window for my cats to sit on, since all the bird feeders are visible from there, but in the fall and winter this can be a chilly perch! This is the perfect solution that allows them to stay warm while watching the birds. I ordered the larger one, and it’s a bit bigger than I was expected (I should have probably measured!), but it still fit in the space. I put it under the light blanket that was already there and it creates enough heat to be warm without them jumping down from overheating. It’s perfect for days when I have errands to run, since I can turn it on and set the timer before I leave. The cover is removable and machine washable which is great, but the reason I put it under their other blanket is so that I don’t have to wash it as often. There is a whole range of temperatures to select from, but since a cat’s normal temperature is 100-102, I wouldn’t select a temperature higher than that. That means for cats, the first two temperature settings are ideal, but by the third setting, it’s already getting too hot. The third setting is probably still ok if you’re using it under a bed or thick blanket, but not if they’re sitting directly on it. If you set it too high, there is also a risk they could be burned, especially if they fall asleep directly on the heating pad if it’s too hot. The max temperature setting will definitely result in thermal burns with prolonged exposure, ie: if they’re lying on it for a prolonger period of time. When I first opened this heating pad, it did have a bit of a chemical smell to it, but this dissipated very quickly, especially after I turned it on to test it, so if you open it and smell something, give it a minute and turn it on and this should go away. My cats seem to love it, and my one cat that likes to sit in the window all afternoon is undoubtedly more comfortable with this heating pad than without it. It’s perfect for this season where fall is transitioning to winter and I don’t have the heat turned up as much as they might like – I guess that’s the downside of being adopted by someone who gets hot flashes!Whether you’re using this for a cat or dog, the one thing I’d recommend is not turning this up too high. If you’re not sure, make a quick call to your vet, especially if your pet is very young, very old, or has underlying health conditions. It’s always better to be safe than sorry. For a little extra warmth, this is the perfect addition when used appropriately.

An Instant Hit
I set this heating pad up like two days ago and my elderly cat will not move because she’s in heaven. Never has she instantly LOVED something I’ve gotten her like this. Usually she’s just content to play with the cardboard box and ignore the actual package completely, but not this time! The pad itself seems durable and scratch resistant. There’s a zipper around the soft, fuzzy outer layer (like a pillowcase) that you can remove and wash. The inner material is a thick, seemingly waterproof white plastic rectangle. It has an electrical cord about four or five feet long that extends from the zipper’s edge to an outlet.Setup was pretty straightforward – plugging it in and pressing the “on” button on the remote (technically it’s a control panel, since it’s attached to the cord) will keep the blanket on medium heat for 8 hours. There are two extra buttons to cycle through the different timer and heat settings, ranging from 2 hours to 24 hours (always on) and from 86°F to 121°F (or 30 to 50°C).So far I have the blanket on always-on mode + medium heat, which is 140°F. We live in a chilly area that’s getting colder as October ends, and my cat is too old to jump onto her favorite sunning spots for warmth. I think this heating pad relaxes her and helps her joints. I set the blanket up on top of a folded exercise mat, next to her favorite chewing hat (she likes unconventional toys), and she was flopped over on it before I even had a chance to take a photo.Whenever I pass by and see her chilling so contentedly, I kind of consider buying a heated mattress pad for myself lol. But I’m happy to see her happy. I might get another one for my friend’s cats for her birthday.Highly recommend!

A Well-Built Pet Heating Pad – For Safety Consider Not Using Settings Above 95
I’ve used pet heating pads for the last few years and they’ve worked wonderfully well to keep a stray cat (that couldn’t be coaxed to come indoors) warm through multiple cold winters. Those pads didn’t have an adjustable thermostat, the max temperature was only around 95 degrees F and they only turned on when a weight was on them. At times I wished they could produce a bit more heat, but I never worried about them getting dangerously hot. When the stray was off the pad it would cool down to ambient (sometimes below freezing) temperature, but the cat was intelligent enough to return to it and lay on it to get warm. This heating pad is more controllable – it can be set to specific temperatures and has a timer that includes an always-on setting that’s confusingly labeled “24” hours. In that setting it will use more energy than the old pad I used, which automatically shut off when not occupied, but this pad can also always be comfortably warm if left on.The pad by itself might not be very comfortable for a heavy pet; the cover is fairly thin and the inner heating unit is flexible by non-padded plastic. I’ll cover the this heating pad with another thin but padded washable cover.I will never use the temperature settings above 95 degrees. The lower two settings are sufficient for comfort and the higher settings might cause burns or overheating injuries, especially to older pets. I’ll mark the controller with a warning for others, too.
