Customers say
Customers find the pet doorbell easy to train their dogs with. However, the functionality and durability receive mixed reviews, with several customers reporting that the paws stop working and the product is not long-lasting. Moreover, the chime response and battery life are problematic, with customers noting that the chime only works about 30% of the time and requires three AA batteries. Additionally, the product’s quality and stickiness receive negative feedback.

It works great….a little too great, maybe!
My dogs trained on this thing so quickly it was amazing. As other reviewers have noted, sometimes the paws stop working. I assume it may be overuse in my household, as one of my dogs LOVES to be outside, and will ring the door bell often. And if you happen to be in the bathroom or otherwise occupied that you can’t instantly respond to his command, he’ll put his paw on the “PAW” and let it ring until he gets let out. It’s sooo cute! Yes, it drives my husband & me crazy, but I allow my dogs to drive me crazy, cuz I’m such a nut when it comes to lovin’ my dogs! However, getting back to the paws that stop working, sometimes it’s a matter of the button sticking, and you just need to play around with it. And other times it just won’t work. If it’s within a year of purchase, you just have to contact Lentek (via email), and with proof of purchase they’ll send you a replacement. I’ve had one fail after two years, and another after 11 months. They promptly replaced the 11 month old unit. I keep an extra ‘paw’ as a spare in case it happens again. An added benefit is if you’re stuck on the phone & want to get off, this thing sounds just like the front door bell….sooooo….get the idea……..???

Doesn’t work – poor manufacturing
Neither one I received worked. Sending both back. It states to increase volume put screw driver in and turn. No hole in either. Got new batteries and still didn’t work. So disappointment as people state their dogs do use it, and they don’t get their nails caught as with other bells. Wish they would test each one before sending. If the seller would receive one and test to ensure functionality, then maybe it can be sent to me for free.

Pet Paw for Pet Chime
Great concept, easy to train my dogs (poms) to use & they seem to love triggering the bell, but disappointed with the quality. I had purchased 3 about a year ago and they worked for few months then the switches started getting sticky.. I thought I would order a couple more as it keeps my dogs from scratching the doors.. and they immediately did not work right. They either erroneously just start triggering the bell or don’t at all when pressed. I tried to contact Lentek and they just told me I could return to Amazon within 30 days of purchase.. They don’t seem to want to guarantee their product. I took apart one of my old ones to try to fix and the problem seems to be with the switch inside. It sometimes activates it sometimes does not.. and sometimes sticks on. I wish someone would make one that would work for a while. I would pay more for one that actually functioned.

Works, but it’s tender
We have a well-trained and highly intelligent 9 yr old mini labradoodle. She learned to use her paw/chime the day it arrived when she was about one year old. She requires a transmitter paw to push to go outside and one outside to push to come inside. So, she’s done this for 7 years now. She weighs 38 lbs and she pushes her door paws with an average amount of force. The thick plastic casing is very durable; a good thing. However, be aware.. the inner-workings of these Lentek doggy paws is rather tender. The little switch that is mounted to the circuit board (operated by the paw) is simply not durable. In our opinion, they are not long-lasting. Due to failure with these switches, we have purchased 6 paws in the last 7 years and we think our labradoodle applies average force to the units. Nevertheless, she loves them and depends on them and we have yet to find another doggy door system to replace them. So, we must stay in tune with their reliability. When there’s a failure, she certainly comes to find us when the barking chime does not respond. We also suggest you use rechargable batteries with a good charger.

Ding-Dong…time to go potty…yes it works…
Despite mixed reviews on many doggie doorbells, we bought a chime and paw stomper switch to stem our youngest hound from scratching up our door. My wife had her doubts….and we own three bassets…noted in dogdom as one of the more dim breeds when it comes to doggie IQs. However, our youngest (3 years old) picked it up in two days. Our next oldest (4 years) picked it up in four days (by example?). Are oldest (10 years old) has not. However, he is a lazy boy who only goes out a few times a day compared to the youngsters and usually heads for the door when he hears the chime by the other two. Although the chime sounds like a typical doorbell, they know the difference between the doggie chime and real doorbell too.Note: The chime takes three AA batteries while the switch takes a 9-volt. It would have been nice if they both took 9-volts. A few times when the chime was further away, it didn’t go off when the switch was pressed. We don’t know if it was due to the batteries being weak or if the transmiter has poor strength. There are no indicators in either unit, so other than removing the batteries and testing them in a battery tester (if you have one), you have no idea. It would have been nice for an AC adaptor on the chime perhaps as well.Jeff R., Seattle WA

Holy Cow
Awesome, awesome! My bully girl is a bit heavier than 90 pounds and has the largest paws for her breed that I’ve ever seen, but she loves to tease me with this product. She will hold her paws over the buzzer until I look over at her and then she will step on it. Such a clever girl! She definitely knows how to make mom do her bidding. We have one on the outside of the house too and its great to have her tell me when she is ready to come in rather than having to watch her all the time.

love these when they work. Neither of the replacements I ordered worked.
I originally ordered the chime and paw. It was great for about a year. Then the paw didn’t work ccorrectly so I ordered 2 replacements. Neither worked with the chime. Very disappointed and so is my dog.Skyskyblu

Terrible product. I have bought 3 of these in the last 15 months. Why 3!? EVERY ONE HAS STOPPED WORKING AFTER ONLY A FEW MONTHS! I have tried to contact Koolatron ( manufacturer) with both phone calls & emails. No response. Great idea , terrible manufacturing. Spend your money elsewhere.
