Why didn’t anyone tell me stainless steel was the way to go!?
I’ve never owned a metal litter box so I was very interested to try this product. As you will see the box is very nice looking and the outside wipes clean very easily. All of the edges are protected and nothing is sharp, which I really appreciate. In one of the photos you will see a white arrow that I placed near the edge. It’s pointing to a protective gasket that runs around the entire edge of the box.I normally don’t use litter boxes with any kind of top. I was honesty a little concerned about the top coming off at first, because I have a very rambunctious one yr old giant baby cat. However, I was happy to discover that the top and bottom pan interlock together and the litter step helps keep the whole thing secure. The top on this box is wonderful at keeping the litter in the box. By the way, the litter step also helps keep litter from flying out of the box. The box also comes with wonderful stainless shovel and it works fantastic! It’s great because nothing sticks to it!!Now, with all that said, I have to tell you the best part. I am so darn happy because of how easy it is to clean this litter box! I haven’t had anything come close to sticking to the bottom or sides! I don’t know if all stainless steel litter boxes are like this, as I’ve been using plastic bins for years. But, consider me converted to stainless! Seriously, it’s a really nice product and it’s very attractive as far as litter boxes go. I’m honestly going to get another one to replace my other plastic litter box.

Sleek Good-looking Litter Box but I Removed the Step.
I really wanted to love this litter box because I’ve heard great things about the benefits of stainless steel, and there are a some really great features and things I do like about this box. That said there were two cons for me. You may have a different situation and I can see why some people would love this box. (See update at bottom)Let me start by saying I have a seven year old Nebelung cat who weighs only 8 lbs with very long fur. Pavlov’s body is quite long and he’s lean. I also have a 13 lb Seal-Point Siamese cat. Yukidama is solid like a rock – no fat and all muscle. I would not call either of them “large cats.” These guys each have their own litter, but both of them like to use the other’s litter as well.Here is what I really liked:- The litter box is attractive, it looks sleek and it doesn’t take up a large amount of floor space. It also matches with everything and looks modern and well-made. Way nicer than my old big beige hunk of plastic litter box!- It came with a nice metal litter scoop. It has larger gaps than my other scoop so this one makes it easier to scoop the litter. Speaking of litter, I’m using regular, 99% dust-free, tight clumping litter. Nothing special.- I also loved that it came with a special step grate to prevent the cat from tracking the litter all over the house. More on that step in a second (spoiler alert: it actually is one of my dealbreakers.DEALBREAKERS:- The litter box is too small for my cats. They really struggle to “get a good spot,” and end up circling around for ages, or just jumping out and them back in like they have to go but they know that this box is hard to move around in. This was a surprise to me because it’s not like I didn’t look at the length and width of the litter box before ordering!- Dimensions are deceiving though because there is a triangle section on the top which sticks out over the litter. This triangle “roof,” measures 5” diagonal from the edge of the back left corner. It’s like an overhang making that area pretty low.- The step in the front goes 3” from the edge of the box into and hanging over the litter area. I’ve seen others where the step faces outwards I read of inwards so it doesn’t shorten the available space the cat can step on, in the litter box.The step shelf grate has one sharp edge which is facing the cat when he’s leaving the litter. I saw that the base and top of the box itself, had rubber trim on any spot that could be sharp (the edges). They should have put this on the edge of the step. I was a bit worried so I added a piece of adhesive backed window trim wrapped around that edge. It totally reassured me. But, just a week in and it’s started peeling away and now litter is stuck to it so I know I’ll need to replace it with something stronger. I wish they had not left this without trim.UPDATE: I ended up just removing the litter step because they were jumping over it anyway. The box and top still stay together but not squire as securely. It made the litter box so much bigger and eliminated my worries about the sharp edge.

No way to secure the step; step has sharp edges
As a dedicated staffer for four cats, I was super-excited to try this stainless-steel litter box out (I mean, not me personally, but you know), but I feel like I’m missing something, quite literally. When the box arrived, it was literally just a top part, bottom part, step, and scoop, and after assembling (which was fast and easy), there’s no way to keep the step in place. It just slides back and forth between the top and bottom parts. I see another reviewer mentioned some kind of gasket that runs around the perimeter of the box, but I didn’t get anything like that, so I’m assuming that’s what would hold the step in place.Second, the step itself does have some sharp edges that worry me. One of our cats is older and has some trouble with depth perception, so I’d be concerned about him misjudging his jump and potentially injuring himself on the edge. It should really either be smoothed down to dullness or else have some kind of protective coating to minimize the risk. I may try it without the step at some point and see how well our cats do with it.I also don’t understand, like another reviewer stated, why it says not to get it wet. Unless you have a single cat and scoop after every potty break, the box is going to get wet at some point, especially if your cats are like ours and prefer peeing in the corners. Also, the scoop is pretty flimsy. I have a 23-pounder that pees clumps the size of my adult hand, and there’s no way that scoop would be able to handle those.I think this is a good idea in theory (stainless steel is supposed to be so much better at odor management), and I’ll give it points for ease of assembly since it just snapped together, but without a way to secure the step in place and minimize the sharp edges, I don’t feel confident allowing our cats to use it. I’d also note that it was too long to fit in the litter box enclosure of our cat tree, but I still would have used it to replace one of their other boxes if I wasn’t worried about the step being sharp. I was lucky enough to try this free through Vine, but if I had paid the current (11/2/25) price of $89.99, I’d be really disappointed.
