Very Pleased With This Food
I, highly, recommend this food as my dog loved it, the ingredients are excellent and the preparation is easy. My dog experienced no digestive upset from it despite my switching his food “cold turkey.” However, I offer the caveat that I was already feeding my dog a raw diet.

Quality but doesn’t rehydrate well
So, based on ingredients I would say that this is a quality dog food. I was looking to replace/supplement my dogs current food which is very expensive while still staying with quality ingredients. I also like the idea that it is a raw food. However my dog is ridiculously picky. I gave him this food three ways to test it. Completely dry, soaked in warm water for just a few minutes, and soaked in warm water for about 15 to 20 minutes. He initially seemed interested when he smelled the moistened food which got me really excited thinking that he was going to like it, And he did eat a few of the pieces but overall he just really isn’t that interested in it. Again, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the food itself, it’s just my weird little dog. The reason I gave four stars instead of five is because if you are looking for a raw freeze dried food that you can rehydrate, this really doesn’t rehydrate well at all. I have Tried many different raw freeze dried foods and this is the only one that stayed pretty firm and dry in the center. Perhaps it is meant to be this way because I know that a lot of dogs like some texture. But if that is the case, you get very, very little food for the price.

My dog loves it
Based on the ingredients and the fact that it is a full meal with all the nutrients they need, that’s why I purchased it. I do not feed this as a meal. I could never afford to buy this and feed my 75 lb dog with it. But it is wonderful as a training treat, knowing that she is getting nutrition with her treats.

Love at first bite
This was an entirely pleasing purchase, and one I am so delighted is offered online. While hunting for a protein switch for my dog, we came across Shepherd Boy Farms alligator freeze dried raw dog food. My dog has always adored alligator, but it became increasingly difficult to find. This resulted in him being on a rotational diet of lamb, chicken, and beef until finding this product.This particular alligator meal was love at first bite. It turned him into a little, ravenous monster. He constantly wants to eat! Instead of endless cuddling with me, he now randomly lies in front of his dog bowl waiting for this food. He bats at his dog bowl to signal he wants to eat. He walks over to where his dog food is stored and angles to eat at whim. He barks for his alligator, including in the middle of the night when he should be sleeping.In addition to the obvious flavor hit with my dog, this protein has renewed him. He is more energetic on this food and has better breath and cleaner teeth. He is playing like a young dog again, which absolutely warms my heart to see. He is all the way around brighter and happier with this meal.Indeed, to say this food is a smash, is an understatement. It is a home run! We usually keep our dog on a rotational diet and change his brand and protein each time we buy dog food. This time, however, we made an exception and bought a second bag of alligator. If he is this happy with and thriving on his alligator, then there is no depriving him. He always gets what he wants, so he gets alligator a second time in a row. This food has a permanent place in our dog food meal plans. We cannot recommend it enough.

My god the price
My 2 smallish dogs love this food. But it would cost me something like $160-20 PER WEEK if I was only feeding this. That’s insane. Even used as treats only, or crushed up and sprinkled on other food, it’s not worth it as you won’t see the results of better health with such a small amount. There are more cost effective options high quality options out there. Can’t recommend.
