Water repellent top layer; make sure it works how you want it to.
This is an interesting blanket that does what it claims to do in a strange way. The upper smooth layer is treated and water repellant rather than waterproof, meaning that if you pour a small amount of liquid onto the blanket it will bead up and roll off if you get to it immediately. If you let it sit for a few minutes it will soak into the top layer of fabric, but won’t permeate to the faux-sherpa layer. If enough liquid is spilled and it is left to sit it will eventually soak through, especially after it has been washed a couple times.This serves my purpose, since I wanted it as a protective layer over a dog bed that is kept in one of my dog’s resting areas for when she comes in wet and muddy and I haven’t had a chance to rinse and dry her yet. The blanket can then be removed once she’s clean, and put back on the next time she comes in damp, so on and so forth. It’s soft and cuddly, and works just fine for this.However, if you plan to use this as a cover for a bed or couch for an incontinent dog or a puppy still in training to protect it from urine, be sure to supervise, because the liquid will 1) roll off the blanket and onto other surfaces around it and 2) eventually soak through. This would probably work if you were able to catch it right away, however.

Cute little pet blanket
This is a very nice reversible blanket to make any place comfortable for your small pets. The blanket has a very soft light pink velvet surface with a warm fleece reverse side. It has a waterproof lining that helps with accident-prone pets, and cleaning is easy as it is machine-washable. It is large enough to cover the surface of most easy chairs, crate pads, or the foot of a full-sized bed. Both attractive and useful.
