Customers say
Customers find the recovery collar effective, particularly for smaller cats, and appreciate that it allows them to eat and drink while wearing it. Moreover, the product receives positive feedback for its quality, comfort, and functionality. However, customers disagree on the collar’s ease of use, with some finding it easy to put on while others say it’s hard to pull off. Additionally, the size receives mixed reviews, with several customers noting it’s way too small, and durability is a concern as some report it tearing apart within minutes of use. The stiffness of the fabric is also a point of contention, with some finding it too stiff.

Lifesaver
I used a hard plastic cone for my first cat after spaying. She was miserable and it was really stressful removing it and putting it back on (it had hard snaps) every time she needed to eat or drink water. She couldn’t really lay down comfortably either. It was heavy and she constantly bumped into things.I did research the second time around for my second cat and found this one. Total lifesaver. Comfortable, easily flips back so she can eat and drink (she can actually get to the bowl without flipping it back, albeit a little awkwardly), easy to remove/put on. Has enough tension around her (very small neck) to stay on. It does get a little dirty so maybe buy two – can wear one while you wash the other. It has a lightweight, canvas like material. Not heavy or cumbersome at all. She can reach the ends of her paws to groom but not her belly which was my only concern. She has scratched it up a bit trying to get it off once or twice so if I was going to use it again I’d probably replace it but we’re on day 7 and she hasn’t managed to get it off (very surprising because she’s like Houdini). I’ve washed it once.5 stars. Totally worth it and a lifesaver.

Great value for the price.
Excellent item. I opted for this for my cats neuter recovery over the plastic cones and although he wasn’t fond of it, managed very well and was able to get comfortable easily. It can be bent back easily if necessary for meal time.I’ve bought this item 5 or 6 times by now because he has some ongoing issues with allergies causing him to scratch insanely and it will be several months before he can see a specialist. It’s obviously not meant for long term use but it’s the only one that’s effective and comfortable for my cat so when it gets too dirty from food or too covered in his hair I replace it with a new one.For a short term recovery you will not be disappointed. I’ve used size small on my cat when he was 8lbs at time of his neuter and still now as he’s 11lbs.

Soft, comfortable, convenient, and mostly effective
Sizing: Most cats will fit in a small. Large cats like my Maine Coon, require a medium. There apparently is no “large”. I am using this with my large cat who has developed severe allergies and will scratch his face to bleeding (working on food trials and other stuff, but it takes many months). This is generally a great product, and I have tried all kinds of cones. It is soft and easy to use. It is not as effective as a hard cone- if the cat works hard, they can defeat the soft cone or flip it down. But unlike a hard cone, it can be worn 24×7 for weeks without danger. Hard cones put a lot of stress on their necks and interfere with eating and comfortable positioning.Unfortunately the cone doesn’t last that long. A cat in it will continue to “pretend” to groom, licking the inside of the cone over and over, causing it to damage. Also it will deteriorate or even tear from being scratched by the hind legs (you can help mitigate that by clipping rear claws, IF you are able to do so). Neither is probably an issue for “normal” short-term use. Also, for long-term use, I modified the cone by sewing on “boning” (plastic ribs) to help it keep its shape better and prevent its defeat. I did this between the 4 radial supports already on the cone; it was relatively easy.I liked them so much I ordered a bunch and gave them away to all my friends and family with cats. 4 stars- would be 5 stars if it lasted longer and had more radial support built-in.

What size did I actually receive??
I ordered the small size. No idea which one actually arrived, because nothing was marked on the packaging indicating the size (“S” and “M” boxes on the packaging, but neither was checked). It seemed too large, and the drawstrings don’t seem to tighten very much. Returning the item for a refund. I’ll just contact my vet directly to order a proper item. This wasn’t worth the hassle.

Works (tears easily)
I think this product could receive a five start rating if the animal using it was small and better behaved than my 14 pound male cat, hence the three star rating for durability. Cat has a chronic scratching problem of ear and aside from a plastic cone, nothing has held up. At one point, neck was raw and something softer was needed so this was tried. It is lightweight and soft. It worked great for about two weeks. After that, cat had begun scratching it and it ripped easily. It was also hard to get tight enough to stay on while still letting him breathe! I do think a smaller cat (and maybe not so strong willed) could use this successfully.

Can be modified for eating and sleeping.
The cone has 4 segments. You can cut away one so it forms a high collar behind her ears but there is only a short neck collar under her chin. Use the string to attach to a harness to prevent rotation of the collar. Makes it much easier for the cat to eat and sleep

More comfortable than plastic, but lacking
It’s more comfortable than a plastic cone, but I’ve had other soft cones that were better. It arrived folded up and would not stay fully open no matter how much I tried to reshape it. So it’s not round and smushes his face putting pressure on his whiskers, which is not comfortable for cats. The way it is sewn together makes it want to lay kind of flat anyway, which doesn’t help this problem. The ties were not threaded through the plastic stopper, so I needed to thread the ties through, which was not easy since they are bigger than the opening on the stopper. I recommend putting a small safety pin through the ends to help pull it through, or trim the ends of the ties to make them narrower so it’s easier to pull it through. The material is rather stiff so it makes it difficult to tighten the ties since the material is difficult to gather. The stitching doesn’t appear that it will hold up very well. It looks like it’s starting to pull apart a bit after putting it on one time. My cat didn’t like it compared to his old soft cone that stayed open and had softer fabric around the neck.

Well-made for cats.
Well made. Comfortable for my cat and prevent her from licking her wound.

This is the best cone I found for my kitten, I was able to put it down for him to eat and drink and it stayed on really well. It was easy to put on and take off but it fell apart really fast. This product would work great for a few days but if you need to keep a cone on your cat for a few weeks then you will need to order a few of these. I found it to be much more comfortable than the plastic ones and it allowed for a custom fit.

Usually Buster collars come in a pack of 10. They are supposed to be soft woven collars and the one which used to be sold by Medikabazaar was made in Belgium. This one piece is a small one and the fabric is hard and terrible . Made in China product , distributed by some Mittal industries. They don’t even accept a return !

Facille entretien et confortable

This cone was purchased to allow my cat to eat easier than he could with a hard cone. If you are trying to prevent your cat from licking a surgery incision this cone will not work. I not only don’t recommend it but would advise against it.

The cone is like paper. It is super soft. I had it for one day and she ripped it apart.
