The only nutritional supplement my old dog liked
This was the supplement my Maltese, who lived with me for 18 years, took during his senior years. When he grew older, our vet recommended it because he needed to gain weight. Since he had lost all his teeth, this gel supplement became the only thing he could enjoy almost like a treat. His diet was otherwise limited to prescription canned food, so I would squeeze the gel onto my little finger and feed it to him directly. Even after he lost his eyesight, he would eagerly lick it—this supplement was both his nutrition and his one special treat.It may not have the fancy, flashy ingredients you see in newer products today, but for dogs struggling with low blood sugar, loss of appetite, puppyhood, or old age, this supplement is truly useful. My dog ate it for many years, and it became his only snack.Nine months ago, just two days before Christmas, he crossed the rainbow bridge. I normally never write Amazon reviews, but I felt I had to for this product. It was the one thing my beloved dog enjoyed in his final years, and it was safe and reliable. I am so grateful to the makers of this supplement for creating something that gave my dog both comfort and joy.Time passes so quickly. Long ago, I had to say goodbye to my parents, and now I’ve also said goodbye to my dearest friend and family member, my dog. lifesaver for malnourished raccoons that are not taking a bottle well
We do wildlife rehab, and when we get in a young raccoon who is not eating well, this really helps to add calories and a little nutrition. So far, all the raccoons that I have given it to seemed to really like it. We had one with head trauma who did not seem to be able to manipulate food in the mouth well, could not eat soaked cheerios and seemed to spill over half the formula even when thickened with yogurt. I would give her a few pea then marble sized bites wiped on the roof of her mouth and she was able to lick that off. This has made a big difference in the malnourished little ones we’ve taken in.

staple for households with puppies / small breeds
i always keep this in stock for my small breed dogs and always reccomend it for any pet owners with small breeds or puppies. dogs (most) love the taste and works well when needed for an extra boost when dogs are off their food. very sticky but easy to dispense in small amounts at a time. significantly better price than one would pay at a vets office!

yummy for skinny pups
My 15 year old Boston terrier was having a hard time gaining weight in her old age. I bought this as a way to supplement her meals and give her extra calories. It had a good flavor, I assume by the potent smell. I just squeezed it out and she licked it while it came out. I wish it was a bigger container but it was a good deal!

Worked well for the dog
I bought this for a small dog that was ailing. Now that we don’t need it for that anymore I thought maybe it would be good for the cats. They will not touch it.

Great for sick or underweight kittens and cats.
I have used this stuff for years, we have anywhere from 8 to 25 cats and kittens in the average season, so keeping everybody healthy is a chore.I usually keep the stuff on hand or another brand I like, just to add to their food when they are extremely young. I also give it to the mothers to replenish them, and it works amazing.Provided your cat is not deadly sick, this should do the trick for simple things where they cannot eat too much or don’t seem to be nursing.It’s perfect for a weight gainer, and to replenish nutrients that your kittens and cats may lose during certain times, it is not a cure for anything. I’m not a veterinarian, and don’t pretend to be. I’m a kennel and Cattery owner. I recommend this product.The price could be a little lower, you do go through them fast if you have multiple cats, but other than that, you get what you pay for it. It works, bottom line.

Rosie loves her pups
Life saver for my pup. He was diagnosed with Atypical Addisons disease and for 2 weeks this was literally all the nutrition he had. I now hide his daily pill and he takes it with no problem. Both dogs like it.

Noticed a difference in my cat within the first week. Was giving her a small marble sized amount mixed in with a tiny bit of warm water to melt it, and then mixed into her wet food each meal, for about 3 or 4 days. We went to a family member’s house and I forgot it, and within two days noticed that she was less interested in her food.Went home to get it and her appetite picked right back up. I truly believe this has been a contributing factor in her staying as alert and active as she has been, while she’s been sick. She’s an absolutely tiny little thing that cannot afford to lose any weight, so having this available has been great.Be forewarned though, open it with the lip end upwards as it comes out and it’s sticky as honey and gets everywhere hahaha. I open it upwards, then tip it over her dish and use a toothpick to cut it off and then tip it back upright and re-cap it. Otherwise you get strings of it that fly around, like you would with honey.

I bought this product for my 16 year old gentleman in place of a more expensive calorie paste to try it and, sadly, saw no results. His previous paste I used in addition to his diet after he lost some of his teeth and began to lose weight even on wet food, which worked. He gained weight and looked overall healthier. However, that paste raised in price and I thought of trying less costly alternatives, like this brand. On it he’s slipped back to losing weight and looking shabby. Maybe it just isn’t for him and might work for someone else, but I won’t be buying this again.

I bought it for my two elderly cats. The fussy eater loved it but the male only sniffed at it. I believe it helped with the females appetite.
