Sleek, elegant and powerful
I purchased this Winix AM80 air purifier to replace a BlueAir 411 Auto. I was tired of always cleaning that annoying cloth filter on the BlueAir, plus taking that purifier apart to change the filters and reassembling is such a pain. Also, the BlueAir sensor sucks as it only a handful of times in four years ever increased the speed or showed a light other than blue. This Winix air purifier is SUCH a huge upgrade. The product is substantial and very well made. Installing the filters was a breeze and the buttons/app work great. Regarding the PlasmaWave feature, go to the Winix website as the Amazon page doesn’t describe this in detail. The charcoal filter can be washed plus only needs to be replaced once per year at the same time as the HEPA filter. The sensors on this Winix air purifier are very sensitive and are constantly ramping up the airflow and turning amber or red. I feel like this is the first air purifier I’ve bought that actually works!I did a side-by-side comparison of air movement with the BlueAir 311 Auto and the Winix AM80 is about twice as powerful….moves double the amount of air. On the lowest setting there is a slight hum from the unit but it’s barely noticeable.Regarding the auto sleep function – the Amazon website doesn’t describe this well. The purifier will go into sleep mode ONLY if it’s set to Auto and the lights are turned off. If you have the purifier set to a higher speed (meaning not in Auto mode) it will NOT go into sleep mode if you turn the lights off. So for those looking for something that moves a lot of air or creates white noise to sleep, this is for you! Of note is the fact that the blue/amber/red light will not dim unless it’s in sleep mode so if the light bothers you while trying to sleep, you’ll likely need to turn the purifier away so it’s not shining in your eyes.Lastly, before purchasing this I did research for a medical-grade air purifier. IQAir, NuWave and Austin Air were the ones I was considering. In reading online reviews, these products all work similarly, just the aforementioned ones are needlessly expensive (and ugly!). Getting a HEPA filter that can remove contaminants down to .003 microns is what is important and the Winix does this! Of note is the Amazon websites for the Winix products give misleading numbers regarding the actual microns…it states both .001 and .3. Look on the Winix website at either the product page or their filter replacement page for the AM80 and you’ll see that the accurate number of the HEPA filter is .003 microns.Get this product, it’s affordable, elegant, powerful, and actually works!

Works really well. Worth it
Works as intended, easy to use and set up (took 5 min). The filters are really easy to maintain and very cost effective. Its very quiet, especially on sleep mode, and will be noticeable (not annoying at all) once it really needs to kick up (which has been very rare). Its design is compact and looks really nice. Doesnt attract any attention. Its light can be seen, isnt annoyingly bright, and turns off once it’s in sleep mode (automatically goes into it once i turn off the light)

Very happy with air purifer
This is a phenomenal air purifier. We have used it in our downstairs family and utility rooms which can sometimes havemusty odors, my wife is very sensitive to smells. This unit clears the air of these odors in a very short time and keeps the air fresh for an extended period of time It is very quiet and energy efficient and the filters appear to have a long life.

Quiet air purifier that works well
I now have two of these air purifiers in my home. They work well and there was a noticeable decrease in the odors in the areas I have them in. I also noticed that the HEPA filters did get dirty quickly this summer with all the Canadian wildfire smoke, so depending on the air quality, you may want to have a set of filters on hand.

Great Performance for a Used Unit!
I purchased a used WINIX AM80 Air Purifier, and overall, I’m quite happy with my purchase! The unit arrived in good condition, though there were a few minor cosmetic scuffs, which is expected from a used product. It also didn’t come in the original packaging, but it was packed well. Setup was quick and easy, and it started working immediately.Performance-wise, this air purifier does a fantastic job at removing dust, pet dander, and odors. The PlasmaWave technology is a nice touch, and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in air quality in our living room. The auto mode and smart sensor adjust the fan speed based on air quality, which is really convenient. It’s almost silent, and you would never know it’s on.The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the pre-installed filter showed signs of prior use, and I had to replace it sooner than expected. If you’re buying used, I recommend checking the filter right away. Other than that, it runs quietly and efficiently, making it a great budget-friendly choice!Would definitely recommend it if you’re looking to save some money on a reliable air purifier. 🚀

Pets? A MUST HAVE.
I looked up some articles and did a little research on air purifiers that are better specifically for pets. A research article found this one to be the best for pet hair, actually pulling the synthetic pet hair out of the air that they used to test. I have had one now for a month and I absolutely love it. Perfect design for practicality, has several filters and even a screen that catches the hair and bigger objects before they hit the filter – you can clean this much easier. The front is magnetic and super easy to open and close. It’s decently quiet and the big deal breaker is any plastic ticking or rubbing noises and this has none! Only loud on turbo mode and it’s still not that loud. I kind of want 2 honestly. It even has huge slits on both sides and below the front to pull in huge clumps of hair if they’re nearby or drifting by. I’m telling you it’s perfect for pets.

Seller product so the return process is dead slow. Better go in for other alternative air purifier.

Absolute junk. Right out the box it clicks the whole time it’s on. They say to shake it upside down and that did nothing. Stay away from this junk
